Tambuwal Elected House of Representatives Speaker

Intriques and high wired politicking played out as Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, was Monday afternoon elected the new Speaker of the 7th House of Representatives.
Tambuwal , a ranking PDP member from Sokoto state ,defeated the much favoured candidate of the ruling party , the PDP ,Hon.Mulikat Akande-Adeola ,also a ranking PDP member from Oyo state.

 

Tambul , a lawyer who enjoys the support of PDP and opposition parties' members , secured 252 votes out of the total 360 votes cast in the election that lasted for over three hours at the green chambers of the National Assembly in Abuja to become the speaker of the 7th House of Representatives
