Usman Danfodiyo Re-Opens After Riot

Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto is to  reopen on Wednesday, June 19 for the continuation of academic activities for the 2012/2013 academic session.
This is after the university was closed down on May 28 following demonstration by some students over poor electricity supply on campus.

According to the university’s registrar, Mohammed Jabo who announced the re-opening of the institution in a statement made available to journalists.
The statement listed conditions for registration which it said all undergraduates must comply with upon their return.
The conditions include: payment of N1,000 as administrative charges for reopening the university payable through the university’s online payment portal and that a letter of undertaking from their parents for their children’s good behaviour throughout their period of study must be tendered.
It added that the students must upon their return individually sign a personal undertaking to fully abide by all the university’s rules and regulations.
According to the statement, the first semester examinations will start on Monday, June 24 , 2013.
