Finally, Nelson Mandela Out of Hospital

Former South African President, Nelson Mandela, was on Sunday discharged from a Pretoria hospital where he had been on admission for almost three months.
A statement issued by the South African presidency, which handles information about Mandela’s health, said: “His team of doctors are convinced that he will receive the same level of intensive care at his Houghton home that he did in Pretoria.”

The statement further disclosed that his home had been equipped to ensure that his needs are met and that he would be taken back to the hospital if needed.
On Saturday, sources close to Mandela told journalists that he had been discharged but this was refuted by the South African presidency.
Mandela suffers from a lung condition said to have been as a result of tuberculosis he contracted during his 27 years in prison for his fight against the white majority rule. He has been in and out of the hospital about four times over the past year.
