“There is need for people to be extra-vigilant against cholera, especially now when there was a recent outbreak of cholera in the neighbouring states,” Labaran said. He said that the state government had been making efforts to safeguard the health of the people by providing clean potable water and regular sanitation.
Laraban blamed poor hygiene and contaminated foods or water for most of the contagious diseases afflicting the people. He urged the people to desist from committing acts which might trigger diarrhoea or cholera by complementing government’s efforts to ensure a clean and tidy environment. (NAN)
